The Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (CSE) is looking for a Building Technology Analyst to join its Building Energy Efficiency Group. This is an opportunity to work with one of the world's leading research groups, including our partners at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (IBP), to develop, model, test, and evaluate cutting-edge building efficiency solutions for a wide variety of clients. Principal Responsibilities:

• Analyzing and evaluating the energy savings potential, current and future economics, commercialization-related pros and cons, and research and development priorities of a wide range of building technologies
• Modeling the end-use specific, whole-building, and national energy impact of advanced building technolo gies
• Characterizing the energy consumption of building equipment and systems

Required Experience and Education:

• Experience assessing the energy savings potential, current and future economics, commercialization-related pros and cons, and research and development priorities of building technologies
• Sound understanding of the energy consumption characteristics and drivers of major residential end uses
• Thorough understanding of the physical and operational principles that drive energy consumption of major building end uses; a deeper understanding of building envelope technologies and/or electronic devices is preferred
• Familiarity with a wide range of energy-saving technologies in residences
• Experience modeling the end-use specific and whole-building energy impact of various energy efficiency measures
• Experience applying models to assess the national impact of energy efficiency measures
• Advanced degree in civil or mechanical engineering preferred
