Biography

Patrick Cloney brings to the CEC eighteen years of experience in engineering, business, finance and government. His background in power plant operations, management, business development, and strategic planning provides a unique blend of expertise to bring to leading the organization. As an entrepreneur, Cloney has launched businesses in real estate, environmental services, and high technology. Cloney worked previously as Vice President at Susquehanna Capital Management where he managed four portfolio companies.

He was also a partner at Clear Power Ventures, where he focused on early stage energy and environmental technology companies, helping them to raise funds and sharpen their business strategies. More recently, Cloney was Executive Director of the Massachusetts Office of Business Development, assisting companies seeking to locate, expand, or maintain their presence in Massachusetts.
